Review of the Day

3:30: - We set up the tracking dolly as all the actors got into their costumes and sorted out their costumes and we spoke to the actors and described what they will be doing in each scene.

All the actors ready to shoot.
The 'concerned' emotion
The 'happy' emotion
The 'angry' emotion
The 'calm' emotion.

3:40: - After setting up all the equipment and getting all the actors ready to film we filmed the tracking shot of Hermit walking down the corridor, checking his phone and then being grabbed by the angry mask. The grabbing and pulling Hermit from off camera was difficult because there wasn't mush and he often knocked the camera as he went, resulting in it shaking. So we had to film this shot quite a few times before getting the perfect shot.

3:50 - After filming Hermit being dragged off by the angry mask, we then had to re-shoot the footage for the scene later on when Hermit would be on his own. This shot was simpler to create because we didn't have him knocking the camera.

4:20 - We then had to shoot Hermit being pushed up the lockers by the angry mask, with the 3 masks reacting in the background. This was the most difficult scene to shoot because we wanted to pull focus from Hermit and the angry mask to the three masks in background. This took many attempts because either the angry mask was blocking the three, or the focus and camera was shaky.

4:40 - We then did another over the shoulder shot from the angry emotion, this is where Hermit pushes the angry emotion out of the way and walks down the corridor. We attempted a few times until we realised some of the camera equipment was in view, we then cleared the background and try it again.

5:00 - We moved the camera equipment to upstairs so we could film Hermit in the long corridor. One shot we had to have Hermit sitting on his own in the corridor and crying to himself. This shot was simple to shoot due to the camera just being still, we made Dave be upset for a long time so when we edit the footage we can choose the best emotions.

5:10 - We re-shot this scene again but this time we included all the masks. It was difficult to  place all the masks in so we could see their faces but also they could be reacting to Hermit being upset. But this shot was also quite easy to shoot.

Evaluation of Filming
Overall I believe filming went well today. We didn't have too difficult shots to shoot and it some of them were really simple, but we filmed multiple times so in the editing stage we can choose the best edit. It was difficult to film in the year 9 area at times due to there being teachers and cleaners walking by ever so often, so we had to wait to for them to walk by. But overall filming went really well and we are happy with our shots.
